Why are people Christians anymore?

Now of days it seems more like a title. Majority of Christians do all these things against the basic principles of Christianity ( before marriage, abortion,being gay or ,smoking, and some not believe in the bible) all the time like its okay.For the ones that do follow bible cherry pick it. They condemn people to hell. They get into politics and shove their religion down people's throat. Why do people say they are Christians if they don't follow any of the basics of Christianity it is like a big paradox. No wonder Atheist say Christians are hypocrites
