Windows 7 or windows vista on my pc?

Wud it be fine if I install either vista or windows 7 on my pc. I have a dual cor Pentium D CPU 3.40ghz , 1gb ram , Intel GMA 3000 with 256 mb dedicated and a valid dsl connection 384kbps
